With funding from Wisconsin's Department of Public Instruction and the National Science Foundation, teacher educators unpacked the new standards and were exposed to Projects WET, Learning Tree, and WILD. Over 50 participants registered for the event. They received lodging, meals, curriculum resources, and a stipend for their involvement. In return, the teacher educators each created three activities that are linked to the Wisconsin Standards for Environmental Literacy and Sustainability that they will use in their courses. These activities will be available through WISELearn, Wisconsin's educator portal, at https://dpi.wi.gov/wiselearn. Additionally, the activities will be compiled and shared in eePRO. Loosely referred to as the Teacher Educator Network for Environmental Education, a special interest group of the Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education, Wisconsin teacher educators have gathered each year since 2010 in order to improve their practice related to environmental education.
