I have developed a series of high resolution nature images that are printed on ceiling tiles to form a skylight view of a natural setting (i.e. the redwood forest, tropical beach, or aspen canopy). Environmental research points to cognitive and behavioral benefits of viewing nature images. A nature skylight ceiling would support environmental education by reinforcing and reminding students of the environmental concepts that are being taught in the classroom.
Coming from my background as an educator and school psychologist, I feel that nature skylights would be a positive contribution to the elementary classroom. This product is economical and easy to install with a drop ceiling. I am seeking feedback from environmental educators on this idea, its viability, and how to best approach this marketplace.
