As a lifelong nature and history enthusiast, after retiring from my professional career as a learning designer, developer and facilitator in 2023, I began to seek out opportunities to put my passion into action.  For the past year I've been serving as a nature educator and historic interpreter for two organizations in western NY and am now preparing to launch a new business that incorporates nature and history education and helps families, schools, and homeschool communities to learn and explore the natural and human history of the region.

I was a learning and development consultant for most of my career, partnering with businesses, non-profits, and higher education institutions to design, develop and deliver high-quality, interactive, relevant training tailored to their learner and organizational needs.  In that capacity I created excellent learning programs for over 100 companies, for all audiences, and on all topics.  As I prepared to wind down that career in 2023, I began to focus on "passion projects" which allowed me to participate fully as a facilitator, guide, and coach for family nature and historic education.  In late 2024 I decided to launch "Heritage Hound," a nature and history education and exploration business in western New York.  I am currently exploring options and certifications that will help me to learn and move my business forward.
