2023 Working with the local elementary teachers to teach about Citizen Science, Urban Forestry, Composting and so much more!

2022 Working with the local county Earth Day event to share with the community about our beautiful planet and our role in protecting our native resources.
21-23 Working with pre-school kiddos once a month to learn about nature including story time, craft, and sometimes a live animal.
21-22 Organizing the Family Nature Explorers Program at local museum including activities and local experts on topics such as birding, pollination, native plants, recycling, wildlife, and more.
2021 Organizing the Global Action Award (SDG 13) Program at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and Ga River Network for a Girl Scout Troop.
2011-2012 Organizing vocational, science, and art students along with community experts to build a Sustainability House Demo Building including wind, solar, insulation, bio roof, etc.
2011-2012 Participating in the Joides Resolution Expedition 328 Pacific Ocean creating educator materials for classrooms on how the data from the ocean floor can be used to determine climate changes. (https://joidesresolution.org/author/klnovakmac-com/)
2010-2012 Organizing a Trout in the Classroom program for Earth Science students.
2004-2006 Chaperoning two student research trips to the Tambopata Research Center in the Peruvian Rainforest and establishing a Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots Club.
1999 Coordinating a Schoolwide Earth Day Celebration!
Starting several university wide paper recycling programs in undergrad and grad schools (someone had to do it!)
