Greetings from DFW!  The Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex consists of urban, suburban and rural areas in Texas.  As a Texas Master Naturalist and a Dallas ISD TAG Teacher, I set up 5th grade excursions to the Dallas ISD Environmental Education Center and order from the Living Center for my K-5 grade gifted classroom.  My goal is to combine my love of nature with teaching earth and life science.  In addition to citizen science, classroom activities implemented include Project Wild, Texas Wildlife Association and Texas Children in Nature Network.  Becoming a National Certified Environmental Educator seems right up my urban alley filled with flora and fauna.

My professional experience includes teaching PK-6th grade public school education in Texas for over 20 years.  I attempeted attaching 4H photos from my Garden Clubs in Crowley ISD.  I am excited to be joining the Garden Club at my new campus, John J. Pershing ES in Dallas ISD, with an existing wildflower garden, pond, chicken coop, outdoor classroom, and raised beds (in dire need of repair).  As the TAG or GT (Gifted and Talented) Teacher, GT 2nd graders are embarking on the TPSP Texas Performance Standards Project task "Design a Garden". This spring, the JMG Junior Master Gardener group looks forward to growing sunflowers and cucumbers.  In 2023, I became a TMN Texas Master Naturalist with the Cross Timbers Chaper.  Currently, I am working on TMN advanced training and annual service for 2025. Usually, I am the one in the sunglasses!
