I have worked as an educator in Kern County for thirteen years, in that time I have worked on various curriculum projects for literacy and English language learners and acquired two Master's degrees, M.Ed Leadership and M.A Rhetoric and Compostion. I grew up in a community that valued its native traditions. My passion has been to plan trips centered around a love for nature and the community. I am an avid follower of the philospher Thomas Berry and ecological economist, Kirkpatrick Sale.

It is at this time I wish to make land acknowledgement: I recognize and acknowledge the first people of this ancestral and unceded territory of Tatavium, Yokuts, Chumash, and The People of the Tehachapies (noo-wah/newoowah) that is now occupied by Kern County and the Tehachapi Mountain Communities; I honor my elders of the Cherokee Nation, past and present, and the descendants who are citizens of the  FERNANDEÑO TATAVIAM BAND OF MISSION INDIANS, and THE KAWAIISU or PIUTT who wish to be called THE PEOPLE of the Tehachapis. I recognize the existence of these tribes, they are still here, and I committ myself to uplifitng their stories, culture and community along with my own.
