Patti Bonnin is a Senior Naturalist at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center specializing in early childhood and family environmental education. She is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, a certified EC-6 teacher, and is currently working on a Master of Arts in Environmental Education at Hamline University. Currently Patti is utilizing her decade of experience in nonformal nature education to develop environmental outreach programs for underprivileged preschoolers, bringing nature to those who need it most. Patti is also a strong advocate for accessibility and inclusion in the outdoors and works to design programs that welcome people with all abilities. Patti has recently joined the Accessibility Advisory Committee for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department out of a desire to increase disability awareness, improve DEI services at the state park level, and to help ensure everyone has the opportunity to explore the natural world. She is also the Educational Advisor for Ocean Music Action, a nonprofit that seeks to use the beauty of music to address oceanic conservation efforts. She enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her husband of 16 years and their disabled 5-year-old son.
