CARICOOS Waves Education Manual
CARICOOS is the Caribbean Coastal Ocean Observing System which brings together coastal ocean data and forecasts from a variety of sources including satellites, ocean instruments and numerical models to give an integrated view of past, present and forecasted ocean conditions in the U.S. Caribbean region. One of eleven coastal observing systems and regional associations which along with federal agencies constitute the national coastal component of the US Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS). CARICOOS created a Spanish educational manual about waves as a tool for educators with interactive activities that integrate technology and ocean observing data specific to the Caribbean.
The Waves Education Manual is a free tool in Spanish designed for educators in Puerto Rico. It is structured into four lesson plans, each with interactive activities that integrate technology, encourage hands-on work, and promote problem-solving exercises. Additionally, the manual is aligned with the Puerto Rico Department of Education Science Program standards. To download the manual, see the link below.
