The Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) created the e-learning course "Overview of the Practice of Ecological Restoration" to 1) introduce the science and practice of ecological restoration, 2) convey the fundamental principles of ecological restoration, 3) synthesize key concepts in ecological restoration science and practice, and 4) create consistency in the understanding and use of key terms and concepts.

The modules of the course are below:

• Module 3: Native Reference Ecosystems and Environmental Change
• Module 4: Supporting and Assessing Ecosystem Recovery

• Module 8: Selection of Seeds and Other Propagules for Restoration
