Building Community in the Virtual Classroom
What happens to Place Based Learning and community building when we are sequestered from each other? How do we share the stories that provide understanding of ourselves and our communities? Join us in bringing community, connection, and deeper meaning to the virtual classroom (and beyond). We are harnessing this unprecedented opportunity of crisis and isolation and transforming it into an opportunity to strengthen and restore ourselves, our students, and our communities.
During the Conference
Veteran teachers and practitioners will share innovative and very practical ideas that will help you break down physical walls, including using powerful storytelling techniques that easily cross disciplines. Conference workshop leaders are veteran educator-innovators and members of CWI’s Collaborative, who come from K-16 classrooms and community based programs. Our Conference workshop leaders and presenters draw from their own experience withing a wide array of fields, including the arts and humanities, educational equity, STEM, folklore, social justice, our front virtual technology, and more. Our shared focus is to learn, adapt, and become a community of poractice.
Make Important Connections
Conference participants will experience new ways of working with a variety of exciting strategies and online apps that facilitate storytelling, engaging content integration, community connections, and the spirit of CWI’s work with Place Based Service-Learning, Sustainability, and Global Citizenship. Before, and during, the conference, participants will be invited to make connections with other participants. We will provide additional ways to continue those connections as ongoing supportive relationships after the conference. learn more l register
