The University of Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences is offering the following online graduate-level courses for the Summer 2018 semester.
NRES 472: Environmental Psychology
Credit Hours: 4
Thursdays 6:30 – 9:45pm* (May 14 – Aug 2)
Discussion of current theory and research in environmental psychology. Topics include environmental perception, cognition, experience, values and emotion, perceived environmental quality, environmental hazards and risk perception, and conservation attitudes and behavior. This course would be of particular interest to anyone interested in human behavior related to the natural or built environment, including landscape architects, city planners, educators, and environmental consultants.
NRES 499: Wildlife Mgmt and Ecology - North America
Credit Hours: 3
Tuesdays 6:30 – 9:30* pm (June 11 – Aug 2)
Brief history of the field, and in-depth look at contemporary issues faced by wildlife managers as they try to conserve and effectively manage the priority species of their area. Suitable for conservationists, ecological consultants, educators, environmental protection specialists, legislative assistants, park rangers, wildlife refuge managers and anyone with an interest in wildlife ecology.
