Webinar: Using Social Media to Promote Programs and Ideas

Increase your social media IQ. Watch a recording of the NAAEE Social Media 101 Webinar (July 23, 2015).

If you’re just starting out or need some new tips on how to use Facebook and Twitter, this is the webinar for you. Social media can help increase your organization’s effectiveness and help meet your goals of engaging your members, supporters, and target audiences. Facebook and Twitter are two of the most popular social media platforms that can be used to increase outreach numbers, build a volunteer base, and establish credibility for your organization. You can use Facebook to build a page for your organization and then connect more efficiently with volunteers, stakeholders, and potential donors. Twitter’s short, creative blurbs can instantly alert your audiences about events, seminars, and critical info. Together, both Facebook and Twitter can serve as powerful tools for your organization.

Led by Elizabeth Sorrel, from the National Audubon Society, provides communication support on a variety of levels including social media management and blogger outreach. During her tenure at Audubon, she has led “Social Media 101” seminars for audiences ranging from scientists to artists, conducted WebEx trainings on how to use Facebook ads to engage new and diverse audiences, and has been a critical part of the development and implementation of social media campaigns including Spring Greening and Birding the Net. In addition, Elizabeth currently advises several non-profits and small business on social media best practices.
