Winter Course: The Nature of Animals & Developing Dynamic Thinking
** THE NATURE INSTITUTE'S 2019 WINTER COURSE:
“THE NATURE OF ANIMALS & DEVELOPING DYNAMIC THINKING"
Feb. 17th–21st, 2019
Join us as at The Nature Institute in Ghent, NY, as we give our attention to the animals and ask:
- What are their unique ways of being in the world?
- What do they bring to our lives and what can we bring to theirs?
- How can we develop capacities of observation and thinking that allow us to know the world we share with them more truly?
This Winter Course is designed for environmental educators and other students of nature. As with all The Nature Institute's education programs, the course will be rooted in hands-on inquiry based on holistic, Goethean phenomenology -- which strives, through practice, to intensify experience so that we can gain clearer and deeper insights.
Our approach is always grounded in concrete human experience, which can help us to interact with nature in more responsible ways. In light of deep concerns about human, animal, plant, and ecological health—which are all intertwined—we will explore together how to learn to perceive and understand nature in a way that brings us closer to her living and dynamic qualities.
