2019 Place-Based Education Conference
Place-based education transforms how teachers teach and how students learn by expanding classrooms to include a community’s organizations, history, and natural features. Investing in place helps youth engage in meaningful learning and civic life, provides vital support for teachers, and strengthens communities.
We'll have 75 presentations and workshops in seven conference strands:
- Ecological and Social Justice
- Foundational Place-Based Education
- Institutionalizing Place-Based Education
- Great Lakes Literacy
- Place-Based Education in Higher Education
- Place-Based Impact Investing and Entrepreneurship
- STEM-Rich Place-Based Education
The conference will feature keynote speakers Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, Flint pediatrician, and impact entrepreneur Laurie Lane-Zucker, along with immersive experiences in the community, and time to network.
We'd love for you to join us to share your expertise and deepen your practice of place-based education! Register and/or submit a proposal at https://placebasededconference.org.
