COEEA Mini-Grants
Every year, the Connecticut Outdoor & Environmental Education Association (COEEA) awards educational organizations and/or community-based groups mini-grants in the following categories:
- Increasing Environmental Literacy - Two mini-grants of $500-$1000 available for local projects or enhancements to existing projects that benefit the environment and increase environmental literacy among Connecticut residents, across a broad and diverse audience of youth and/or adult learners.
- Advancing DEIJ in Environmental Education - one mini-grant of up to $2,000 stimulus funding for actions that advance diversity, equity, inclusion and justice (DEIJ) in environmental initiatives, including but not limited to DEIJ staff training, recruitment and outreach of more diverse audiences for programs, stipends for interns with more diverse backgrounds, or projects addressing one or more dimensions of environmental injustice.
The project period is for the calendar year.
ELIGIBILITY & QUESTIONS
All current COEEA members (individual members and member organizations) are eligible to apply. Join COEEA as a member today to become eligible to apply for a mini-grant in the 2021 grant cycle and have your membership extended through December 2022. SUBMISSION PROCESS
Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on November 22nd as an email attachment to COEEA at minigrants@coeea.org. Download the application to your files and rename it as [Your organization] - COEEA Mini Grant Application. Please identify your name or organization in the subject line, alongside the mini grant category you are applying to. Please attach any letters of support or other evidence in the same email.
SELECTION PROCESS
The COEEA Mini Grants Committee will review and evaluate each application and announce the awardee recipients at COEEA’s annual meeting, to be held virtually via Zoom on December 7th.
Awards will be based on the merit and the DEIJ impacts of the project, including local relevance, meaningful/experiential learning, environmental stewardship and advancing the goals of Connecticut’s Environmental Literacy Plan (CT ELP).
