Coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate. In this film, a team of divers, photographers and scientists set out on a thrilling ocean adventure to discover why and to reveal the underwater mystery to the world.

After the film, stick around for a discussion with Kelley Dennings. Kelley helps lead the Center’s work to highlight and address the connection between human population growth and threats to endangered species and wild places.

The United Nations estimates that world population will increase by 2 billion people in the next 30 years. At the same time, scientists predict that a million wild plant and animal species will go extinct in the coming decades due to habitat loss, pollution, climate change and other human-caused problems.

Chasing Coral” explores the hidden parts of our planet and just what’s at stake in the age of extinction. But there’s hope. By advancing human rights and equality, and ensuring that people can choose if and when they have children, we can help protect coral, ocean ecosystems and the planet.
