What Does the Green New Deal Mean for Communities of Color

This spring, Grist is teaming up with the Peoples Climate Movement to host a series of discussions about the potential impact of a Green New Deal on communities that are on the front lines of climate change, including communities of color, rural communities, low-income communities, displaced workers and indigenous peoples.

On April 16th, we’ll be hosting a virtual town hall discussion, moderated by Grist journalist Justine Calma, about what a Green New Deal could mean for communities of color. Miya Yoshitani, Executive Director of APEN, Mike Atty, an organizer with the Gamaliel Networkin East St. Louis, and Bineshi Albert, Movement Building Coordinator at the Indigenous Environmental Network will be taking your questions on the dangers that communities of color face from climate change, and what something like the Green New Deal could do to address them.
