WHAT: Exploring the Natural World with Animation

Anim8Nature has produced a series of short animated documentaries about natural phenomena. The shorts are produced for children and families to spark curiosity, encourage careful observation of the natural world and inspire environmental stewardship. Documentary animation informs children about the facts of life-science in a creative way and can be used in a variety of ways. Take a look.

WHERE: 
Anim8Nature films are accessible for free on our website and on our Vimeo channel, with new animations are being added regularly. Currently the organisms featured are 17-year cicadas, jellyfish, Monarch butterflies, shelf fungus, lichen and oak trees. The InMotion series is very short snippets of a variety of natural phenomena.

HOW:
Online animated documentaries can be viewed in a classroom, museum, nature center, park, art center, etc. They can be seen as a series or individually. A perfect adddition to a specific program or lesson plan or accessed randomly for phenomena based inquiry. The options are endless and open to exploration.

Anim8Nature screens these documentaries in our animation workshops to share with children our work and what it means to explore science with art. These are a jumping off point for their own exploration and creative activity.

ABOUT:
These documentaries do not have narration and are available to international audiences, regardless of language. We are not explaining what is being shown in the animations. We want the viewer to experience the phenomena as they might see it in nature and spark curiosity to find out what’s happening and why.
