Gove Group educational consulting
Gove Group, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based educational consulting firm, has been working to assist nonprofits and government entities to develop and execute professional development trainings, seminars, conferences, etc. At present, they are engaged with a few groups in Pennsylvania to conduct free teach-the-teacher seminars on effective energy education. Curriculum developers at Gove Group wrote an extensive, multidisciplinary, standards-based K-12 energy program that features lesson plans, classroom activities, and other related resources so that educators and school administrators may be better prepared to engage students on energy issues. Issues addressed in the program include energy resources, extraction and transmission basics, everyday awareness, efficiency, and diverse career exploration. If you are located in Pennsylvania and would like to sign up for one of their free regional programs, please call 412-431-1010. And if you happen to know of any organizations that might also want to assist in sponsoring additional free programs, do consider sharing that information with Megan Whitmer, Gove Group’s Director of Sales and Events (meganw@gove.org).
