The first step to increase STEM achievement is to increase student interest in STEM fields and in continuing this education. Students often choose fields of study where they feel they can make a positive contribution to society. Knowing that many students are concerned about the world they will inherit, this contemporary series relates how the many fields of science can positively impact today's environmental issues. From mechanical and electrical engineering, to microbiology, meteorology and geo-physics the fields of science are melding and expanding in an attempt to meet growing demands.
