Junior Wildlife Rescuer Activity Book
The newly published Junior Wildlife Rescuer Activity Book (for ages 6–12), written and illustrated by Mariya Prytula and presented by Austin Wildlife Rescue, contains over 40 animal puzzles, games, and crafts. The book, a useful resource for environmental educators, teaches kids about animals, science and the environment and how they can be empowered to make a difference in the world.
It is available for order at the Austin Wildlife Rescue.
The book is organized into chapters with different activities on rescue (wildlife identification and transport to a rehabilitation center), rehabilitation (medical care and feeding/cleaning), and release of animals to the wild (taking care of the environment and coexisting with nature).
Since animals contribute to keeping ecosystems functional, the book’s activities that cover symbiosis, food pyramids, ecosystems, exploring and identifying plants and animals in the wild, allow children to use their imaginations and problem-solving skills in a creative way to heighten environmental awareness. The book also has a QR Code link to Austin Wildlife Rescue for answers to activities and support if an activity is too hard or needs a partner.
