New Resource—Learning for Life: Mobilizing Education for the Global Biodiversity Framework
Developed in 2025 by a coalition of education experts, the new Learning for Life: Mobilizing Education for the Global Biodiversity Framework empowers the education sector to drive action for the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The Learning for Life guide is intended for educators, trainers, NGOs, youth organizations, and higher education institutions involved in formal and nonformal education. It aims to help the education sector engage with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and support its implementation through education and awareness building. The guide provides practical tools, advocacy strategies, and examples to integrate biodiversity education into programs and National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs), including an overview of the GBF and education’s role in achieving its goals. It also offers actionable insights and case studies of innovative approaches and partnerships that embed biodiversity education in diverse learning contexts.
The guide is supported by the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC), the Canadian Wildlife Federation, the Morpho Institute, and WWF.
