United We Are Unstoppable
The spark was Greta Thunberg sitting alone outside the Swedish parliament in 2018 with a wooden sign that read Skolstrejk för Klimatet (School Strike for Climate). In just over a year, more than 1.4 million people from 128 countries had joined the young protestors on the streets to make their message heard loud and clear: act now before it’s too late.
We are still in the middle of a pandemic, but climate activism matters now more than ever. The policies put in place now to support economic recovery will determine our climate fate.
About the author: Akshat Rathi is a London-based journalist for Bloomberg News. He has a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Oxford, and a BTech in chemical engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai.
