Katahdin (Kate) Cook is a STEM Education Specialist at the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance. Dr. Cook holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Studies from Wright State University, an M.S.Ed. in Secondary Science Education from Northwestern University, and a B.A. in Neuroscience from Oberlin College.

I am a nature-based educator with a BS in Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation with a MaEd in Natural Science and Environmental Education.

I am the place-based science coordinator in Columbia Public Schools in Columbia, Missouri. My current big project is opening a county wide nature school in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation.

I founded WeNaturalists, an ecosystem for nature professionals and everyone, in 2019 with a simple motive – to give a purpose to people’s passion for nature. Apart from being an entrepreneur, I'm also an ardent nature lover, wilderness explorer, and bird photographer.
