Loves: The outdoors, water, being active, educating, invertebrates, and ocean puns. Dislikes: Garbage in compost, losing hope, not wearing a masks in public. BSc. in combined oceanography and biology Fun fact: Connected 1000s to the ocean through Ocean Wise's Canada 150 education program in 2017.

I am currently at PhD candidate at OISE researching the most impactful and visionary pedagogies for climate justice that nurture learner well-being.

I have worked as a wildlife educator at Northwoods Wildlife Center, a small non-profit wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education facility since 2012. I am currently a graduate naturalist at Wolf Ridge ELC in Finland, MN for the 2021-2022 school year!

Dr. Irene Porro is the Director of the Christa Corrigan McAuliffe Center for Integrated Science Learning at Framingham State University. She is also the lead of the MetroWest STEM Education Network, a member of the STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice.
