I am an educator and an advocate for public-involvement and community science, working at the intersection of people, nature, climate, and science. I am the PI on the MacroBlitz project, leading a team of National Geographic explorers to empower educators from the Canadian forests to Chilean Patagonia to teach how to survey aquatic macroinvertebrates using iNaturalist as a data platform. Sarah Misale

The Misale’s love helping the community within Marquette County. With a vision of how they wanted early childhood care and education to feel for both children and their families, the pair decided to open Discovery Central shortly after getting married. The school was founded in Downtown Marquette with its first school year in September of 2010. In 2023, DC moved to its new home at 1010 Silver Creek Rd. Jeremy and Sarah love cultivating relationships with all children enrolled, overseeing maintenance, and keeping up on admissions and admin tasks so that the teaching team can focus on the kiddos, first and foremost.
