I was an informal environmental educator for 30 years and now I am looking for a formal teaching position

Multiple years of experience in residential and urban environmental education and cooperative association management. 6+ years as a docent and training other docents in interpretation for Woodland Park Zoo. Especially passionate about informal learning orgs to communicate about climate change!

As Education Director for Vashon Nature Center, Maria coordinates hands-on science education programs in public schools, facilitates community education classes and workshops, manages seasonal high school interns, and assists with community science monitoring research. Maria has over 25 years of experience in informal education designing and delivering outdoor, place-based, hands-on education with a focus on community science. She has been with Vashon Nature Center since 2016.
